ART ENRICHMENT
Students will learn and develop their skills in drawing, painting, and mixed media & acquire some sculptural skills. Using a variety of media, this course is designed to bring out the creative talent in your artist. The class will also help enhance the necessary skills and understanding needed for students who are interested in auditioning for the Visual Department at the BAK Middle School of the Arts. CLAY CREATIONS
Come play with clay using coils, slabs, pinch pots and extrusions. Learn decorative techniques using textures and colorful glazes. Find out about greenware, bisqueware and the process of working with clay from start to finish! All supplies included. Last class of session is reserved for final glazing of projects. PAINTING MADE SIMPLE: ACRYLIC
Whether you're an absolute beginner or looking to refine your skills, this relaxing and supportive painting class will help you build confidence and nurture your creativity. Working on a subject of your own choice, you'll explore design fundamentals such as composition, line, form, and contrast while developing techniques in sketching, color mixing, brushwork, and finishing. Join us for a mindful, artistic journey where you can unwind and express yourself through painting. A supply list will be provided upon registration. ADVENTURES IN OIL OR ACRYLIC: BEGINNER-ADVANCED LEVELS
As a practicing artist, learn ways to make your drawings and paintings more accurate and more exciting! Students work on subjects of their choice and will be encouraged to develop their own original styles to reach personal goals. Instructor will offer a 3-hour ‘paint-a-long’ for the second class of each session. Students are encouraged to participate or can work on their own subject matter. WATERCOLOR BEGINNINGS
This course is an introduction into the exquisite medium of watercolor. This is a beginner’s class, so if you have never painted before, don’t worry! We will begin with some basic painting/drawing composition concepts and transition them to a finished painting. I will have a collection of reference photos to work from, and we will also explore methods of drawing and different paint mediums such as oil, acrylic and how they differ from watercolor. Through observation, demonstration and experimentation, we will explore areas such as color theory, combining pigments and transparency which give watercolor its unique character. MASTERING GRADIENTS IN WATERCOLOR
Gradients are basic techniques watercolorists use to describe form, movement, and distance. The first half of the workshop consists of technical exercises that help you master this technique. Then you may select a photograph from the instructor's supply, or use your own image including a gradient, to paint something you have learned during the workshop. Required art supply list available at registration.

CREATIVE WRITING: BITS & PIECES OF YOUR LIFE-MEMOIR
Everyone has a story to tell, but many have writer's block. In this workshop, facilitator Marjorie Most makes writing a fun experience by showing you how to write about the "bits and pieces of your life." Once you have the pieces, like a puzzle, you can put them together and get the whole picture...your memoir. Classes are every other Wednesday beginning January 28 through April 8.

LIGHT PAINTING + CAR & BOAT TRAILS: PAINTING WITH TIME
Transform darkness into your canvas. In the first classroom session, you’ll learn how to use long exposures to create glowing light trails and vibrant painted-with-light effects. WAVE PHOTOGRAPHY: CAPTURING MOTION & POWER
Come learn the tools to photograph the ocean’s immense beauty with your camera. This course includes one indoor classroom session focused on learning core skills, followed by three outdoor sessions where students put those techniques into practice in real-world settings. The structure balances instruction with hands-on experience, giving participants both the knowledge and the opportunity to create strong images. Students should bring a DSLR or mirrorless camera and a tripod. (Daylight Saving Time begins on March 8th hence the class time shift.)

DISCOVER THE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY
This immersive, hands-on workshop is designed to take you from beginner to confident image-maker using your digital camera. Over eight weeks, you'll learn how to properly expose your shots by mastering your camera’s modes, buttons, and settings through guided practice and exploration. You'll dive into the fundamentals of composition, explore color theory, and experiment with black-and-white photography, portraiture, and more - all while developing your own creative style. We'll learn by studying each other's work and building a supportive creative community. For the first class, please bring your camera and three printed photographs you’re proud to share - any format is welcome.
NOTE: This course is tailored for digital camera users and is not intended for smartphone photography.
