The City of Palm Beach Gardens Recreation Department is seeking artists to submit an original canvas artwork that captures the spirit and tradition of The Gardens GreenMarket, to be illustrated on our 24th anniversary year tote bag, presented at The Gardens GreenMarket Anniversary Celebration, Sunday, January 11, 2026.

TIMELINE: 

  • Artist submission by – Monday, September 1, 2025
  • Artwork panel judging – Tuesday, September 2 through Sunday, September 14, 2025
  • Winning artist notification – Monday, September 15, 2025
  • Final artwork due – Monday, September 29, 2025
  • Tote giveaway celebration – Sunday, January 11, 2026

RULES FOR ENTRY: 

  • Be at least 9th grade age or older.
  • Complete a new 16.5 x 15-inch landscape orientation of all original artwork capturing the essence of The Gardens GreenMarket, to be completed by utilizing mediums only consisting of either paint, watercolor, pastel, ink, and/or charcoal, without any partnered assistance, including digital, clip art and artificial intelligence.

WINNER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sign Artist Agreement, granting all ownership rights and physical artwork to the City of Palm Beach Gardens.
  • Participate in a two-hour in person scheduled interview for social media & marketing promotions.
  • Autograph a minimum of 100 totes before the anniversary celebration, Sunday, January 11, 2026.
  • Attend The Gardens GreenMarket Anniversary Celebration ceremony, Sunday, January 11, 2026, 9:00 a.m. for artist acknowledgment announcement.

COMPENSATION & RECOGNITION:

  • $1,000 compensation will be awarded.
    • $500 presented when final artwork is submitted and approved.
    • $500 presented onsite at The Gardens GreenMarket on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
  • Social media recognition on The Gardens GreenMarket Facebook page and the City of Palm Beach Gardens Instagram and Twitter pages.
  • Feature on The Gardens GreenMarket webpage.
  • Invitation to Tote-ally Art showcase, consisting of a designated tented area to exhibit and sell your additional artwork, compliments of the City of Palm Beach Gardens, during The Gardens GreenMarket, on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
  • Invitation to participate in Tote-ally Art showcase the following year, during The Gardens GreenMarket Anniversary celebration.
