The Traffic Division consists of a Sergeant, (4) Motorcycle Officers, (4) Crash Investigators, and (2) DUI Officers. 

Duties

Traffic Enforcement: Enforcing traffic laws and regulations to ensure public safety on roads. This involves issuing citations or warnings for violations such as speeding, running red lights, improper lane changes, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Accident Investigation: Responding to traffic accidents, securing the scene, and conducting investigations to determine the cause of the accident. This may involve interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and documenting the scene.

Traffic Control: Directing traffic during emergencies, special events, or construction projects to maintain the flow of traffic and ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians.

Community Outreach and Education: Educating the public about traffic laws, safe driving practices, and the consequences of reckless driving. This may involve conducting presentations at schools, community events, or driver education programs.

Assisting Motorists: Providing assistance to motorists in need, such as helping with vehicle breakdowns, providing directions, or offering aid during emergencies.

Traffic Data Collection: Gathering data on traffic patterns, accident rates, and other relevant information to identify areas with high accident rates or traffic congestion and develop strategies for improvement.
