The Vision Zero Action Plan was adopted at the November 6, 2025, City Council meeting.

What is Vision Zero?

Vision Zero is an international initiative to eliminate traffic-related fatalities by implementing safe, reliable, equitable mobility for all, and a policy that traffic related crashes should never result in a severe injury or loss of life. On June 6, 2024, the Palm Beach Gardens City Council resolved to unanimously designate Palm Beach Gardens as a “Vision Zero City.” This initiative represents a formal commitment to a change in culture, and a shift from traditional road safety practices to a safe system approach.

Building on this framework, and with federal funding support through the SS4A program, the City is currently outlining a framework to address traffic safety issues and developing this Vision Zero Action Plan.

Why is this plan being developed?

The City of Palm Beach Gardens was awarded a federal planning grant to fund the development of the plan. Funding comes from the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) discretionary program, under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The program provides funding for safety planning, demonstration projects, and implementation projects. By developing this plan, Palm Beach Gardens will be eligible to apply for additional funding to implement identified safety projects and programs.
