What is Vision Zero?
Vision Zero is an international initiative to eliminate traffic-related fatalities by implementing safe, reliable, equitable mobility for all, and a policy that traffic related crashes should never result in a severe injury or loss of life. On June 6, 2024, the Palm Beach Gardens City Council resolved to unanimously designate Palm Beach Gardens as a “Vision Zero City.” This initiative represents a formal commitment to a change in culture, and a shift from traditional road safety practices to a safe system approach.
Building on this framework, and with federal funding support through the SS4A program, the City is currently outlining a framework to address traffic safety issues and developing this Vision Zero Action Plan.
